The
American Public Works Association, Capital Branch, solicits nominations for and
presents annual awards to owners, designers, contractors, and individuals for
projects and achievements in the public works arena for the prior year.
Public
works project is defined as the physical structure and facilities that are
developed, owned, and maintained by public agencies to house government functions
and provide water, power, waste disposal, transportation, and similar public
services in accordance with established public policy.
This year the APWA
Capital Branch recognized eight projects and one individual for awards. Due to
the pandemic, this year’s banquet was held virtually. Included in the following Press Release are the projects
along with brief descriptions.
