SOME OF THE TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: (Other related
activities may be performed although not listed):
• Inspects reported violations of the town codes/ordinances on junked cars, littering
and refuse, peddlers and vendors, excavations and dumping, carnivals and
entertainment;
• Makes on-site investigations to verify complaints;
• Writes simple reports of incidents for town or village court;
• Takes photographs of violations;
• Enforcement of parking ordinances, pond inspections as assigned by public works
staff;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school graduate or equivalency; plus two (2) years of paid full-time or its
part-time equivalent experience in responsible public contact work involving the
resolution of complaints.
• Must have a valid NYS driver's license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Working knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures involved in zoning,
community planning and code compliance especially as it related to land and
property use;
• Working knowledge of the legal procedures in code enforcement;
• Working knowledge of office management techniques;
• Ability to establish good working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to follow instructions

Senior Construction Project Manager - Buildings

Senior Construction Project Manager-Buildings: The work involves coordinating the research, design, planning and inspection of building construction and reconstruction projects. This is a responsible professional position requiring the application of engineering and architectural knowledge to the management of building projects. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher ranking engineering or architecture employee and supervision is exercised over other construction project managers and a small number of technical and clerical personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A) Graduation from a regionally or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or architecture supplemented by eight (8) years of engineering or architectural experience of which three (3) years must have included supervision of design, inspection or construction of large scale building projects; or: B) Twelve (12) years of engineering or architectural experience of which five (5) years must have included supervision of design, inspection, or construction of large scale building projects; or: C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), and (B).  

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Eligible for a New York State professional engineer’s or architect’s license at the time of application for examination and possession of the license at the time of appointment.
